Book News

As it loams closer to the convention time, I'm working harder on the book. A friend of mine just published his book on ebooks for amazon, his name is Kyle Peterson. This gives me more drive to try hard and work harder.

If you want to read it, its only .99

So support a local and also give it a try.

The newest reviews to come?

Yes, there will be new reviews and also getting ready to discuss mythology meets if I can get the IRC working right, I'm still having trouble trying to host it. If anyone knows contact me via my e-mail: ylsa_heraldhealer@yahoo.com

Also I will be discussing some new anime coming out and also helping people if they are having trouble with some book information.

Some good series to consider in Kaidan

Higurashi no Noku Koro ni

A series of arcs and the characters, Keiichi, Satoko, Rika, Rena, Mion, and Shion are part of the cast. There are so many stories revolving around a murder and death in their little village of Hinamizawa.

Hinamizawa is actually a real place call Shinawara in the middle of nowhere. It is considered rural and are quiet. I would love to personally visit the village and look at the place.

Ghost Stories

Although it is a comedy of dubbing, this series is seriously bad, but good at the same time, it does show the demons and ghosts from folk tales. There are quite a bit of fact mixed in with what the ghosts are inside the legends.

If you like to laugh and learn a few facts about demons, go ahead and watch.

Nezumi's Book of Friends

A lonely teenager finds out that his grandmother had friends in a spiritual sense. Creatures that she took their names and wrote them in a book so she could summon them. Now her grandson is bent on returning the names of the creatures before a fox demon takes the book for himself.

Personally this series is less horror and more drama, but I do recommend it simply for the rural flavor and stories.

The News from the book

Panels for 2012

A new panel will be added to Animeland Wasabi 2012, the Sailor Moon panel: Twenty Years of Sailor Moon. This is going to sport some information and also memories of one of the finest shows to hit the US since Evangelion. This is a panel I am doing with a good friend of mine, Tony Lewis who is a long time fan and also started his first panel with Hetalia World Summit, with me as the Zombie obsessed country, Romania.

Give us the best of luck, we're going to need it.

Slight Panic

After a few personal problems that were none of my creation, Lee and I will be continuing the traditional panel for Animeland on Japanese Mythology and also Shiki, the new views on Vampires in animation. We are also going to be updating several new things on Vampires Den, including membership and as well as events that are outside the realm of horror. If anyone is interested, please contact us at our site: Vampires Den 101.

As a personal note of thanks goes to SupremeUnknown on youtube, you did me a service and I can't erase that kind of thing. Thank you again for helping with the personal matter....hope that I can return the favor someday.

I'm pretty sure that this time, I will make sure that a certain someone should not be allowed to get an autograph, considering it isn't worth my time.

What you can expect

For the new panels for Animeland....well....a new Q and A, one on one with the panelist, a chance to actually take a look at our notes. Add some comments and also ask more questions on what you want to see. If you are interested, I will bring you a rough draft of the book itself and have you take a look at the first several chapters.

Also a chance for you to actually have a good look at the books that I used for research, though some of the packets are actual college notes taken during a communications class. If you were interested in also one other more interesting fact, we are trying to talk to an expert in the field and see if they are willing to come to talk at the convention. Though it might not be high on their priority list.

Project Lunning

I am going to try yet again to talk to the writer of Mechademia and see if I can at least get her to come to Animeland Wasabi....its harder now than ever to get a hold of people. If you are a fan of yaoi and also all things Mecha related in the art field, please realize, I might not be into either, but I am trying to do this for your benefit.

Interesting work

Found and Lost

I was looking around my basement today and found some papers on Intercultural Communications, I was hoping this stuff could help with my panels. I am hoping that I can also have this link to my panel on Japanese mythology.

I'm excited on doing the research. The author is LaRay M. Barna who wrote "Stumbling Blocks in Intercultural Communication," and some other books. These books are helpful in my research, not to mention commentaries.

If anyone can find books on Cross-Cultural Communication, it would be amazing.

News for Animeland

Panels

I'm doing the panels, I'm not going to say much, but I'm going to working on not just the book, but also some new appeal to bring more people into it. I'm waiting for one of my co-panelists who are trying to assist in information.

I'm locking forward to the seeing the newest information and also I am still waiting on talking to Lunning on her books and also the editing done.

I'm also working on a commentary work on Anime Fan culture and also the difference between Japan and the US cultures. Not to mention the world cultures, we are looking at the huge group of people and also the fandom is growing each year.

Convention Information

If anyone from Animeland wants to do some outside convention conversations regarding the panels, I'm going to mention that I'm not going to go into detail with NDK issues.

My Note Program was Revived

I got ONE NOTE back, yeah, that's right, I just got the software back on my laptop and now I can upload from the backups the information. The only problem is I don't have WORD or PowerPoint, I am warning you now, that if you want some more information on the panels and also some of the new information on Japanese mythology, I will be discussing in the next few entries on how perception helps in mythology.

Laptop back up

The Backups

I lost my copy of One Note, I am trying to find the software and also so I can get back on track with my writing. What is horrible enough is that Open Office will not work for my intended purpose.

Confidence still lacking

How does one think I can do something, how does one believe one can do something good? I gave up trying to figure it all out and my confidence is very lacking. After the complaints from several people regarding the panel at Nan Desu Kan, I have opted my best alternative to refrain from doing some panels, but continue the scheduled panels, but make sure that everything is filtered a little bit for everyone's benefit. Since the problem persists, and even if I finish the book, things may not get better.

I believed that writing was the best I could do, I have attempted to do the research and remain objective. I thought at first that I was doing the right thing, benefiting my research and others. I guess that sadly that's not what people saw.

Continuing the Work

I will continue the work on the book, but I don't want credit for the research that I did, I don't want to feel as if the world will find me a great person. To say I am great is a horrible thing to say, I have done some horrible things, I lost friends, one was thrown out due to lack of paying rent, one friend died of a horrible illness that she was battling all her life...I'm no great person, nor will I ever be, I am just a writer...

I will finish the book, I will write more and make sure that all the hard work pays off. If I do have this work becomes published and many people see it. My dream is that if I am asked to autograph, I do not wish to be famous, I do not wish to be anything more than a writer. No great works goes without a friend to read.

Panel Schedule

Animeland Wasabi (2012): I will register as soon as I can and will be attending.
Nan Desu Kan (2012): Registered

Other things

I will be having a garage sale soon, these will be books and clothing, if you want to come, please IM at: ylsa_heraldhealer@yahoo.com if we don't sell the clothing, all of it will be donated to Good Will or to the Columbine Hills Church of the Nazarene.

Computer on the Fritz!

Nearly Lost it all
You can guess how furious I was when my laptop crapped out on me and I nearly lost all my information Japanese mythology for Animeland Wasabi. The data was saved thankfully to a backup system, we can all thank Lee for that.

Animeland Wasabi Panel
No news if I got the panels up yet, if I do, I will inform you here and all other people what is going on.

Why not returning to NDK?
It is a personal choice, we are not doing panels for Nan Desu Kan again, it was entirely too stressful and though the con staff are nice, we are looking for broader groups to work with. If anyone wants to bring concerns to the convention staff that is fine, but I'm sure they heard it all.

Mythology Discussion Group Ideas
I'm planning to bring up an idea to have a discussion group soon, if anyone wants to talk discuss and hold a meeting, we are looking for a suitable location. This is a place where you can bring concerns and thoughts about the future panels for conventions, discuss some points in mythology of Japan that you do not understand and also have your fellow panelists discuss it with you on a one on one discussion.

These include myself, my fiance (soon to be husband), and also hold chats with other people in matters of the discussion.

We can also watch anime together and discuss it with you as well.
