Some good series to consider in Kaidan

Higurashi no Noku Koro ni

A series of arcs and the characters, Keiichi, Satoko, Rika, Rena, Mion, and Shion are part of the cast. There are so many stories revolving around a murder and death in their little village of Hinamizawa.

Hinamizawa is actually a real place call Shinawara in the middle of nowhere. It is considered rural and are quiet. I would love to personally visit the village and look at the place.

Ghost Stories

Although it is a comedy of dubbing, this series is seriously bad, but good at the same time, it does show the demons and ghosts from folk tales. There are quite a bit of fact mixed in with what the ghosts are inside the legends.

If you like to laugh and learn a few facts about demons, go ahead and watch.

Nezumi's Book of Friends

A lonely teenager finds out that his grandmother had friends in a spiritual sense. Creatures that she took their names and wrote them in a book so she could summon them. Now her grandson is bent on returning the names of the creatures before a fox demon takes the book for himself.

Personally this series is less horror and more drama, but I do recommend it simply for the rural flavor and stories.

The News from the book

Panels for 2012

A new panel will be added to Animeland Wasabi 2012, the Sailor Moon panel: Twenty Years of Sailor Moon. This is going to sport some information and also memories of one of the finest shows to hit the US since Evangelion. This is a panel I am doing with a good friend of mine, Tony Lewis who is a long time fan and also started his first panel with Hetalia World Summit, with me as the Zombie obsessed country, Romania.

Give us the best of luck, we're going to need it.

Slight Panic

After a few personal problems that were none of my creation, Lee and I will be continuing the traditional panel for Animeland on Japanese Mythology and also Shiki, the new views on Vampires in animation. We are also going to be updating several new things on Vampires Den, including membership and as well as events that are outside the realm of horror. If anyone is interested, please contact us at our site: Vampires Den 101.

As a personal note of thanks goes to SupremeUnknown on youtube, you did me a service and I can't erase that kind of thing. Thank you again for helping with the personal matter....hope that I can return the favor someday.

I'm pretty sure that this time, I will make sure that a certain someone should not be allowed to get an autograph, considering it isn't worth my time.

What you can expect

For the new panels for Animeland....well....a new Q and A, one on one with the panelist, a chance to actually take a look at our notes. Add some comments and also ask more questions on what you want to see. If you are interested, I will bring you a rough draft of the book itself and have you take a look at the first several chapters.

Also a chance for you to actually have a good look at the books that I used for research, though some of the packets are actual college notes taken during a communications class. If you were interested in also one other more interesting fact, we are trying to talk to an expert in the field and see if they are willing to come to talk at the convention. Though it might not be high on their priority list.

Project Lunning

I am going to try yet again to talk to the writer of Mechademia and see if I can at least get her to come to Animeland Wasabi....its harder now than ever to get a hold of people. If you are a fan of yaoi and also all things Mecha related in the art field, please realize, I might not be into either, but I am trying to do this for your benefit.

Interesting work

Found and Lost

I was looking around my basement today and found some papers on Intercultural Communications, I was hoping this stuff could help with my panels. I am hoping that I can also have this link to my panel on Japanese mythology.

I'm excited on doing the research. The author is LaRay M. Barna who wrote "Stumbling Blocks in Intercultural Communication," and some other books. These books are helpful in my research, not to mention commentaries.

If anyone can find books on Cross-Cultural Communication, it would be amazing.

News for Animeland

Panels

I'm doing the panels, I'm not going to say much, but I'm going to working on not just the book, but also some new appeal to bring more people into it. I'm waiting for one of my co-panelists who are trying to assist in information.

I'm locking forward to the seeing the newest information and also I am still waiting on talking to Lunning on her books and also the editing done.

I'm also working on a commentary work on Anime Fan culture and also the difference between Japan and the US cultures. Not to mention the world cultures, we are looking at the huge group of people and also the fandom is growing each year.

Convention Information

If anyone from Animeland wants to do some outside convention conversations regarding the panels, I'm going to mention that I'm not going to go into detail with NDK issues.

My Note Program was Revived

I got ONE NOTE back, yeah, that's right, I just got the software back on my laptop and now I can upload from the backups the information. The only problem is I don't have WORD or PowerPoint, I am warning you now, that if you want some more information on the panels and also some of the new information on Japanese mythology, I will be discussing in the next few entries on how perception helps in mythology.

Laptop back up

The Backups

I lost my copy of One Note, I am trying to find the software and also so I can get back on track with my writing. What is horrible enough is that Open Office will not work for my intended purpose.

Confidence still lacking

How does one think I can do something, how does one believe one can do something good? I gave up trying to figure it all out and my confidence is very lacking. After the complaints from several people regarding the panel at Nan Desu Kan, I have opted my best alternative to refrain from doing some panels, but continue the scheduled panels, but make sure that everything is filtered a little bit for everyone's benefit. Since the problem persists, and even if I finish the book, things may not get better.

I believed that writing was the best I could do, I have attempted to do the research and remain objective. I thought at first that I was doing the right thing, benefiting my research and others. I guess that sadly that's not what people saw.

Continuing the Work

I will continue the work on the book, but I don't want credit for the research that I did, I don't want to feel as if the world will find me a great person. To say I am great is a horrible thing to say, I have done some horrible things, I lost friends, one was thrown out due to lack of paying rent, one friend died of a horrible illness that she was battling all her life...I'm no great person, nor will I ever be, I am just a writer...

I will finish the book, I will write more and make sure that all the hard work pays off. If I do have this work becomes published and many people see it. My dream is that if I am asked to autograph, I do not wish to be famous, I do not wish to be anything more than a writer. No great works goes without a friend to read.

Panel Schedule

Animeland Wasabi (2012): I will register as soon as I can and will be attending.
Nan Desu Kan (2012): Registered

Other things

I will be having a garage sale soon, these will be books and clothing, if you want to come, please IM at: ylsa_heraldhealer@yahoo.com if we don't sell the clothing, all of it will be donated to Good Will or to the Columbine Hills Church of the Nazarene.

Computer on the Fritz!

Nearly Lost it all
You can guess how furious I was when my laptop crapped out on me and I nearly lost all my information Japanese mythology for Animeland Wasabi. The data was saved thankfully to a backup system, we can all thank Lee for that.

Animeland Wasabi Panel
No news if I got the panels up yet, if I do, I will inform you here and all other people what is going on.

Why not returning to NDK?
It is a personal choice, we are not doing panels for Nan Desu Kan again, it was entirely too stressful and though the con staff are nice, we are looking for broader groups to work with. If anyone wants to bring concerns to the convention staff that is fine, but I'm sure they heard it all.

Mythology Discussion Group Ideas
I'm planning to bring up an idea to have a discussion group soon, if anyone wants to talk discuss and hold a meeting, we are looking for a suitable location. This is a place where you can bring concerns and thoughts about the future panels for conventions, discuss some points in mythology of Japan that you do not understand and also have your fellow panelists discuss it with you on a one on one discussion.

These include myself, my fiance (soon to be husband), and also hold chats with other people in matters of the discussion.

We can also watch anime together and discuss it with you as well.

Starting on the rough draft again

Rants!

This is the second attempt to do a rough draft yet again, if you are interested in some parts of the rough draft, I am going to see about compression and seeing if I will copy it out. I am going to ask though that people do not attempt to use this as a source for research. I am sorry to say, but most people are going to have to realize not all works of nonfiction are meant to be used as such.

Also another thing, if people do not like the sources I use, I do not discriminate on what sources. Sometimes these sources will appear out of date, it isn't as if a topic I use is going to be up to date. The most part, please realize that the topic of mythology like Joseph Campbell's research is old and almost all the writers are either retired or for the most part DEAD!

So next time someone says I don't know what I'm talking about, until you are doing the research and doing the panel. Until that happens, I'm sorry, you should realize that I don't do this to be mean, but I am just saying, if you have a problem, you should come to the blog, type up the concern on comments and just have a conversation with me....

Writer's Block

My confidence has been lacking for awhile, due to some personal problems. I have not said much, recently moved out of Aurora. I stopped hanging around people who are considered bad influences.

Considering all that, my influence has waned on some things. I am not interested in drama and personal hells, but as a writer, I am going to say, the newest bout of writing is also in fan fiction. I tried to write nonfiction for awhile and it is getting to be a headache. If anyone wants to know anything, I am writing a commentary on fandoms and will be posting it on my opinions page. The problem with opinions is sometimes people don't want to consider the possibilities.

Conventions

Conventions

2011
Nan Desu Kan
Mile Hi Con

2012
Animeland Wasabi
A-Kon
Animeland Makiba

Some there are subject to change, though I am going to say Nan Desu Kan will not have me doing panels and I will not be intending to return to panels until 2012 for Animeland Wasabi and Animeland Makiba. I will also be preparing for a new work and also working on a new book that is a work of fiction.

Books of Interest

In the most part, I will atest to this, finding books at the moment are difficult to come across due to the factors of time and restraint of information I am willing to get more information.

A manga that is excellent is: Natsume's Book of Friends, it shows an excellent amount of information about mythological creatures in Japanese culture. You will see Kappa, and several other creatures who show throughout the book asking the main character Natsume for their names back.

The Slight Emergency

News!
The book is still on the burner, still being worked on, and still with the same old problems. I'm goign to mention though that at the moment considering what is going on. I have told many people I am not doing panels for Nan Desu Kan and I am going to keep saying it till the cows come home.

Panels for 2012
We will be doing panels for Animeland Wasabi, that is a given and also considering we are also going to be working with a good group called Just O.S.S.U. these guys are simply the best. If it isn't for them, Animeland Wasabi wouldn't be working out so well.

I may not agree 100% with the people in the group personally, but what they do with Animeland is still simply the greatest work ever. To be honest, I think they do an excellent job and I applaud them.

Let's get some old books

Researcher!
Yes, been awhile I know from my last posts. I am working toward another set of revisions if I have to to make sure that the work is complete. I'm thinking that within a few months there will be full draft of the book and will be given to an editor. All people who followed this blog should at least post something on here to express something.

Another book that backs a theory

The Book
Soucese of Japanese Tradition vol. 1
Compiled by Ryusaku Tsunoda, WM. Theodore de Bary, Donald Keene
ISBN: 0-231-08604-0

Reading Chapter 1 and also some of the backing that the book seems to follow, the Japanese were considered to be Korean, or at least had crossings with the Korean nation. Though the debate is always going to reign that Japan in itself is who they are and don't need to explain their origins. Convincing the world that the source is just that island is just another drawing of the ideas of that.

Though this is the one book I have found that there are excerts from the Nihongi (Chronicles of Japan) and the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters). There are a lot of things that are covered including a work history of what the Chinese documented from Japan and also the dealings they had. There is a sense that the Japanese and Chinese back then were not fond of each other considering that both considered themselves quite the center of the world.

In my opinion, I have rad a book from the same publisher, it is called Sources of Chinese Tradition, and the volumes do show some of the literary history as well as some of the cultural traditions.

This book, as dated as it is, is still one of the most accurate when it comes to the mythology studies, regardless of what is going on now.

Modern Japanese Culture
Edited by Yoshio Sugimoto
ISBN: 978-0-521-88047-3

This book, is more of a commentary on how Anime culture seems to influence. There is a sense that this is more of a history of Manga and Anime, then about a culture. Though culture of many nations are still considered influences on anime and artwork.

I have yet to really get too deeply into the book.

Debate of the years

As I do my research on Japanese mythology, I am still looking it through the eyes of one of the Western nations, not as a Japanese would. There is evidence that some of people of Japan came through during the 400,000 bce with the move of the Ainu people into what is now Honshu, then the movement in the 3000 bce from people in Central Asia from means of Korea.

There is some evidence that says some of the people of Japan are directly related to the royal families of old Korea. In truth, the debate of whether they are Korean or not, is still a very tightly held and debated subject. In truth, I don't really want to take a side, though the way Joseph Campbell took it is that is just conjuncture and also flow of people's. It could be that we are looking a possible if not theoretical idea that the movements as seen in the book, Oriental Mythology by Joesph Campbell does show some sense of facts.

I am always looking at different possiblities to explain some of the culture. The idea of language in the linguistic histories is that Japanese is Altaic, which is languages that are ONLY found in Southern Asian nations and born from Chinese. In truth, the only thing born from Chinese in Japan is hanzi or Kanji. So you are looking at different theories that are possible for a nation to exist in its own way.

The theories that I am running into are from the books and also histories of Asia that I have checked out of the libraries. If anyone has any questions, yes, I will take to answering, but I'm kind of getting ready to move yet again.

Images from the Deep: Japan's Tsunami

Appears that someone sent down scuba divers to take a look at the wreckage of the terrible tsunami that struck Japan in March. Please take a look at this video at Scuba Divers Reveal Remnants of Japan Tsunami

Its a sad thing to look at, but yet, these memories will remain.

Book news!

News
After collecting as much as I can for the summer to read, I'm kind of surprised at the moment with all the new information that I am gathering and preparing to do a rewrite yet again. I will be posting a perspective idea onto the blog soon that will be interesting.

I am working with Animeland Wasabi with planning a new set of panels for 2012, and also preparing with looking at out of state conventions to do the panels there. If anyone wants to join in, please understand, the best part is that we care about nearly everyone's opinion.

The blog will be put on a flyer for Animeland Wasabi next year so people can access it and also get information or find out new books we are looking into.

Books
Each update, I'm going to post some of the books that are becoming part of my research, if you can find them, that's amazing and fun. Also be aware that if you are using these for research in classes, be sure to know your formats.

An Introduction to Oriental Mythology

Clio Whittaker

1-55521-451-7

This is actually an excellent example of some of the artwork and also some of the pictures show some of the temples and statues of the Gods.

Recommendations for formatting a paper for classes

If you are a high school or college student you must remember what the formats for most of the research. There are the Chicago style, which has footnotes and information pertaining to the book. There is MLA which I can't remember what the acronym is for, but this is the basic, this has a works cited page located at the end where you put your cited works. There is also the AP Link(Associated Press) and one that is used for medical students.

For classes in English, usually the MLA format is the accepted form you use, while some will actually as for AP or even Chicago. Though if you are attending most high schools, you are expected to have the MLA format as standard.

Here is a listing of books for MLA:
MLA Handbook for Writing of Research Papers
Writer's Inc. (used by most high schools)

APA, or American Psychological Association has its own style as well, these are used in classes that are for Philosophy and also Psychology courses. These are mostly used in colleges and some high school classes.

Books for APA:
The APA Pocket handbook
Consise Rules of APA style
Mastering APA style

The AP or Associated Press is usually used by journalism students and often has been used to do journals as well as books, and sometimes magazines. I encourage many people to actually read some of the magazines outside of popular ones. Newspapers use the AP style and also have a lot of pictures.

Books for AP:
The Associated Press Stylebook 2009
The Associated Press Stylebook
The Associated Press stylebook and Briefing on Media Law 2011

The last style I am going to talk about is Chicago, you will see these in some textbooks with the footnotes on the bottom. Then you have a standard works cited page. Mostly history and some of the ancient philosophy books will have it in this format. Sometimes even law books too, but that's a rarity among books.

Book:
The Chicago Manual of Style

Decided to do a Panel

I'm think of doing a panel for Animeland Wasabi called: Furs and Anime: What the Fur Fandom Did for Anime Fans. This is going to be a clear guide on the information and also friendship circles that have shown up since the Furs also were part of the Anime Fandom and if it wasn't for furries, there wouldn't be Anime conventions and other such fandoms.

I am aware of the horrible things that people have said about Furs, but I think that since their is a clear link we should do something to make people actually realize furs aren't bad.

Book News

Finished finally Historical Reality or Metaphoric Expression by Michael Wachutka and also Myths of Light: Eastern Metaphors of the Eternal by Joseph Campbell.

I have this to say to anyone who is joining me on the research, these books are not for the faint of heart, in truth, I will tell you this much, they are hard and complex reading. Then again, Michael Wachutka's work has actually paid off in the end and I do understand the interpretations that aer important to make this book I am writing more possible than ever.

As I did tell people the goals are different only slightly, and some of the words of the wise is that Japan in itself is still rebuilding from the massive tsunami back in April, but again, strong people. There are many things to be said as I read and also realize that much of Japanese mythology is much like the people, but considering some of the places I wish to go are now underwater, there are many things I do wonder. Is Japan going to allow preservation groups come in with the intention to help save parts of the history and rebuild as best they can some recreated places? Are they going to allow anthropologists to come in and examine the historical areas and hope to restore everything to their former glory? I'm so curious and hopeful that with each step I take to get my book published that I hope something contributes to this.

I worry very much about the shrines that are affected by this because there is a great deal of historical worth and also the manuscripts that are inside are very important, it tells the story of the history and lives of the past leaders and it would be such a shame to lose something like that.

As far the book, yes its on track, but I'm going to say this again, as soon as some kind of discussion can be brought together, I am going to worry on and work on more information gathering.

Goals have shifted

When starting this three years ago, I found that since NDK 2008, the goals have become much more different. There was a lot problems and considering the way people act, and also the fact I was suddenly judged by people at some places. I became acutely aware of a lot stuff, so I opted that the lay out for this blog will change and also limiting the access to some information on the progress is sadly needed.....

Complaints?
Well...I'm sorry, not in the mood to hear them

Banned from being a Panelist at NDK

I have opted on the situation with Nan Desu Kan, I will continue writing, but if the book gets published, no vendor at Nan Desu Kan may carry it.

Project Lunning is not cancelled, if we can't get her to NDK, then we get her to Animeland Wasabi.

As for books for the summer, I will be listing some of the works to look out for and what is worthwhile reading if you want to follow me on the journey of discovery.

Another project I am looking at is also martial arts in anime a commentary, Karate Kid (1980s) to present.

Project Lunning

After careful consideration, I have thought about this through the night, I think that Frenchy Lunning should come to Animeland Wasabi, not so much Nan Desu Kan as a good idea, but considering how Frenchy is. I would like to meet her offline and actually talk to her on an academic level, I have been thinking about talking to her and seeing if I can get some support.

Fans of yaoi, yuri and other groups have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to this woman, so yes, I am thinking of someone who is not me. I am thinking about fans in general who have read and also enjoyed her works including Mechademia and many other works. She is amazing person and from what I heard is extremely hard to get a hold of.

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Frenchy Lunning

I have been wanting to speak with the editor of Mechademia and get her prespective on my work on Japanese mythology and how it appears in anime. I am more of trying to get some professors to actually take a good look at what I'm doing and also trying to find out the legit path to follow. So far I have not heard word back from the woman, she must be very busy.

Her work in the Anime fandom should be commended, she has done a great service and has helped in establishing us a little better. I do admire the woman and hope she will assist me in some way in this book.

Side note:
Historical Reality of Metaphoric Expression? by Michael Wachutka is the single most boring book I have ever had the displeasure to read....I am wishing to any deity that this person had some sense of depth, this book is dry and nearly as boring as sitting in a doctors office waiting for my dad's check up.

A Commentary: Yaoi, Yuri, Dojinshi

I am actually going to look away from mythology and do a little focus for people to see what it is like. Mechademia is a collection of books and works from various different writers who were writing in context of the Anime community and also the affects manga has. It was also giving us a written documented history of the media.

In many cases I can tell you a lot about Japanese anime in several forms, but I am going to talk at length about something that does have a lot to do with my work. This is something that has started to show up almost since 2002 with several different forms of yaoi. It isn't just about "Level C" or "Sensitive Pornograph". This is more about the fact some of the yaoi that is out there has a lot to do with the history and also the progression of Shojo (Female's Manga) in Japan.

Mechademia Volume 2
"Revolutionary Romance: The Rose of Versailles and the Tranformation of Shojo Manga" and "Shojo Manga! Girls' Comics! A Mirror of Girls' dreams" are the first two sections that speak at length about the history of comics in Japan for girls.

Girls' literary magazines in the 1920s and 1930s, the shojo shosetsu (girls' novels) and accompanying illustrations serialized in them, developed a recognizable aesthetic and literary style. (Pg 4)

From the start of the first set of comics made for guys, there has always been a set for girls, at least in the Japanese world. Sadly for America, the female comics were not to show up until the 1950s with Archie comics and some of the others that were to show a passive role for women. Stronger women in comics were often seen in boys' comics. Not true in some sense in Japan when women were shown to have a lead role.

The views from the very long lived series called "The Rose of Versailles" was considered a masterpiece and even when it ended with the death of the main character, it won the hearts of the young teens. This again was back in the 1970s, where a lot of the shojo manga picked up and started to become much more powerful, with the 1980s and 1990s coming with CLAMP and many other animation companies to follow.

A first, most of the stories were of course very yuri (girl and girl) which was more for the fact that it was put in the idea of female friendships and love being more platonic and not very physical. It was by no means hentai, series like "Strawberry Panic," "St. Mary is Watching Us," and many others followed this tradition, even "Sailor Moon" with a lesbian couple, Haruka and Michiru who were seeming to be heroes too.

In some cases the social network scheme for girls has remained the same in Japan, but not so much in the United States or some other nations due to the different cultures.

Shojo though is also read by some males, mostly for entertainment and comedy, it isn't just for girls anymore. There are almost as many males reading it as females in the last couple of years in the United States alone. The world could consist of more. The reason for this is because many still believe comic books are meant for children. Even with the scale of protections.

Also what has become evident since this book was written a lot of the information about the readers has changed a little.

Some of the series does have some characters that have become much more complex. Series like "Black Butler" actually has a male following as well as female following of fans. There is also still the idea of yaoi that seems to follow most series these days. Then again, I am going to say this now, I am neither a fan of yaoi and usually though it not my favorite, I'm not going to say anything bad against it.

Yaoi has become part of the Shojo simply through the writings and modeling from the 1970s, several series that came out went from this period and has helped in the expanision.

What is also unique about Shojo is that many artists who are known for male dominate manga actually started out doing female comics. Osamu Tezuka before Astro-boy actually did a few female orientated manga that appeared in weekly Shojo magazines and have been reprinted several times. His classics include "Red Ribbon Knight" and "Kimba the White Lion", these were not jsut for girls and boys it was for adults as well.

Many of the great Mangaka (artists and writers) actually were born around 1949 to 1950 and became the driving force in most manga today. We have many writers who wee influenced by those of the past and have continued to raise their works up to the standard we know now.

What was also a driving force came not from Japan, but the United States from Walt Disney himself. He brought over more than just digital animation, but also a style was was unique. The Japanese went about improving it and it is now what we see today in most series and it is still an amazing way to tell a story.

In many cases we have a lot to be thankful for in anime and also manga because of this history. We see from the fact anime does come from the old commentaries of monks in illustrations, then when World War II was going, a lot of the artwork was more for war. There was other concepts that became part of the culture after the war, it was more that they wanted something that could become much more attached to leaving that part of their past behind.

Anime and Manga in general have risen from different sources. Mechademia volume 2 and many of the books that follow have pointed out the great amount of research and joys people have made about Anime.

Commentary:
As I said before I am neither for nor against yaoi, I am not the type of person who is actually a fan of the stories, but considering how important it is to have yaoi, I would not discount it as something wrong. Culturally it was bound to happen and though the United States had a huge wake up call when yaoi started to appear in mass during the early years 2000s. We are still getting what was popular back in the 1970s to 1990s coming in.

I would say that we are not done seeing yaoi or even yuri for that matter crossing into our anime and manga simply because of how important the social structure put it. From how I look at anime and manga in some sense as a researcher for mythology, I could not help but actually post this as part of a commentary I have about the topics.

Yes, I am not a fan of yaoi, but I am a fan of yuri, which is similar to some cases in history. And it would not surprise me that some people who are fans are also going to be interested in these facts about their yaoi.

So if you want to know about the book: Mechademia Volume 2: Networks of Desire
ISBN: 0-8166-5266-X

And if anyone else can help me find the rest of the series of books because I was told there are at least five more, please POST!

Research Revamp

Summer plans
I have already ordered and will be working on redoing some of the information on my notes, some of it isn't as good as I want it to be....

Also I am going to be working from this blog to get the updated materials and also where people can get a hold of me through blogger on just about any panels I will be holding for 2011 to 2012, there will be announcements of what conventions that I will be giving the panel.

I am also going to be sending the book to a publisher sometime this fall. If anyone wants to know which, I can't say. There are several conventions that have approached Lee (fiance), who has become my agent of sorts, which is a glad movement.

Business Cards and Flyers
Plans as of late, I will be putting up flyers at the panels I am at that will have this blogger mentioned and also attempts to put together a discussion via this site and maybe Yahoo Groups to see if we can have open dialogue on the topics. These will include Demonology, Religions of Japan, Eastern Philosophies, some Western Philosophical views on Japan, History, and also the anime itself that has been influenced by these elements.

Animeland Wasabi: Success Story, Testing for future Panels
The Q and A with people have been pretty good, it was spreading to Nan Desu Kan, which is a good thing. I am happy to say, that even though I am working hard to get things sorted out. Animeland is actually a good testing ground for new things, not to mention the responses and the people who came were still good. I love the responses and also having Lee managing the crowd control will be a good success.

Donations to Red Cross: PLEASE
Please donate to your local Red Cross to help Japan, I am not saying much on this other than the fact yes, I know people in Japan and have on other blogs told people about my friends and family living there. The country will build up and they are a proud nation, let this be a lesson, nature is not to be trifled with lightly.

With this information in tow, I have to proceed more highly on the mythology panel and also work more toward getting to the nation to get this information. Losing it isn't a good thing, and it preserves that culture. I am a great lover of history and cultural history, I will tell you the difference in a later post.

Please donate to the Red Cross to help Japan and also pray for the country in this time.

Conventions Schedules
As I said, when I find out what conventions will be having my panels, I will announce it to you on this blog. Don't go to my LJ for that information, this is a more current blog and also I will be updating my research. Don't go crazy if you miss my panels at one convention. I am going to be requesting that there will be a video feed at sometime of the panels so people can actually watch it at their leisure, I will tell you this much, please for any classes you take on mythology of Asia, PLEASE don't use me as a source, please just look up the books that I used as well as the anime that was used. You will find it far more beneficial for papers and also research. You can however use me as a source if you need to, but I am not going to be held responsible for your grades.

All conventions will be listed on this blog and if you are attending, we will make sure to open the floor. Open floor Q and A has become a new style and we are hoping to keep it.

Mythology After Dark Program: Scrapped
After Dark will not be returning to being finished until maybe fall of 2012, I will ask people who are fans of this program to please be patient. The problem with the After Dark it leaves little room for Q and A and more for the fact that the person who was running with me, was at the time unable to attend due to family emergencies.

We do however welcome assistant Marc whose knowledge on Mythology will be working with us to build the newest addition. Japanese Ghosts and Ghost Stories: A Survivors Guide, will be added to the string of panels for After Dark.

I will ask people to remain patient in this time.

2011 News

NDK 2011
At NDK there will be no Panel on Japanese mythology, I was asked by the director of panels to take this year off and start a rewrite and also revamp the panels.

Next year, 2012, NDK will have their panel back and a new year and a new panels.

Animeland Wasabi 2011
There will be a panel for Japanese Mythology in this area, I will recommend that you arrive early and also make sure you be ready with your questions. This is not like NDK's panels and will run like a Q and A, if you want to post questions on this website.
